U&E measures kidney function and salt balance (sodium, potassium, urea, creatinine). It is essential in dehydration, vomiting, kidney concerns and before starting certain medications. Same-visit results let your nurse practitioner act immediately, rather than waiting days for a lab. 

LFTs check the health of your liver by measuring enzymes and proteins released into the blood. They support the investigation of abdominal pain, fatigue, jaundice, alcohol review and medication safety. Results are typically available the same day, interpreted in person by your nurse practitioner. 

TFTs measure thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, T4) to investigate symptoms such as fatigue, weight change, palpitations, hair thinning or feeling cold. Most results are ready the same day, with interpretation and next-step planning during your visit.

HbA1c reflects your average blood sugar over roughly the last three months and is the standard test for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes. Combined with a point-of-care glucose reading, it gives a clear picture in minutes, not days.
