    Schedule: Single dose at birth

    Common Side Effects: Local ulcer, scar

    Age Groups: Newborns

    Contraindications: Immunodeficiency

    Pregnancy Advice: Avoid in pregnancy

    Routine: ID (Intradermal) injected into thin layer just under the outer skin.

  • Brand examples: Engerix-B, Recombivax HB

    Schedule: 3 doses (0, 1, 6 months)

    Common Side Effects: Injection pain, mild fever

    Age Groups: All ages

    Contraindications: Severe allergy (yeast)

    Pregnancy Advice: Safe

    Routine: IM (Intramuscular) injected into a muscle.

  • Brand examples: Boostrix, Adacel

    Schedule: Primary series + boosters

    Common Side Effects: Injection pain, fever

    Age Groups: Infants to adults

    Contraindications: Severe allergy

    Pregnancy Advice: Tdap recommended

    Routine: IM (Intramuscular) injected into a muscle.
